Ranking Product Owner - ISR
HYBRID / LOCATION (1-2 days/week in the office)
SALARY: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

This role offers a great opportunity to lead product ownership of our Interdisciplinary Science Research Ranking (ISR). You will become the subject matter expert for the ranking and the higher education sector, responsible for ensuring high-quality delivery and continuous improvement. Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  1. Ranking Delivery: Full accountability for all aspects of the ranking, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
  2. Higher Education Sector: Develop an in-depth understanding of global HEIs and their approaches to interdisciplinarity, especially in research. Handle external queries regarding project definitions and details.
  3. Methodology: Liaise with the Project Sponsor and Data Science team on ongoing improvements and reviews. Maintain detailed documentation.
  4. Relationship Building: Develop strong relationships with institutions, facilitate data provision, and encourage participation.
  5. Data Collection: Work closely with developers and data providers to ensure efficient and accurate data collection.
  6. Data Quality: Own data definitions and validation, working with QA specialists and Data Science team to ensure data validity and process improvements.
  7. Line Management: Manage and develop Data Editors.
  8. Reputation Building: Promote the ranking through presentations, webinars, and other outreach activities.
Skills and Experience
  1. Data Operational Use: Understanding of quantitative and qualitative data assessment, experience with data pipelines.
  2. Delivery Focus: Motivated, responsible, with a proactive attitude.
  3. Communication Skills: Effective negotiator and influencer, capable of aligning stakeholders and driving strategic development.
  4. Reporting: Ability to update senior management on project progress.
  5. Versatility: Able to work at both detailed and strategic levels.
  6. Technical Skills: Excellent Excel skills; knowledge of SQL and data analysis is desirable.
  7. Qualifications: Degree-level education; experience in higher education and rankings; foreign language skills are a plus.
