The Role

As a Rail Arborist, you'll carry out vegetation management and arboriculture works to help maintain a safe and reliable railway network. Working as part of an experienced team, you'll deliver work safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Vegetation clearance within the rail environment.
• Tree felling and processing.
• Hedge, shrub and undergrowth clearance.
• Removal of hazardous and overhanging branches.
• Operation of chainsaws, brush cutters, hedge trimmers and wood chippers.
• Fencing repairs and installations where required.
• Vegetation management around railway signals, signage and infrastructure.
• Daily equipment inspections and maintenance.
• Identifying and reporting safety hazards.
• Working safely in accordance with Network Rail standards and company procedures.

Applicants must have:

• Previous experience working within therail vegetation industry.
• PTS (Personal Track Safety).
• NPTC/LANTRA Chainsaw Maintenance & Cross-Cutting (CS30 or equivalent).
• NPTC/LANTRA Felling & Processing Trees up to 380mm (CS31 or equivalent).
• Emergency First Aid at Work + Forestry (F+).
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Qualifications

The following would be advantageous but are not essential:

• NPTC/LANTRA Tree Climbing & Aerial Rescue (CS38 or equivalent).
• NPTC/LANTRA Aerial Cutting with a Chainsaw (CS39 or equivalent).
• COSS.
• IWA.
• MEWP.
