74 boats. 148 skippers. 7,500 miles. One historic race. And now, for the first time ever, the legendary "coffee route" race is setting off under the flag of TRANSAT CAFÉ L'OR Le Havre Normandie!

Founded in 1993 through a partnership between the French coffee brand Jacques Vabre and the city of Le Havre, the race has been a bi-annual tradition ever since, inspired by the historic 18th-century trade route that first carried coffee from the Americas to Europe.

Our L'OR brand is the proud new face of the 17th edition of the famous transatlantic sailing event, which will see four classes of boats sail from northern France to Martinique starting October 26.

TRANSAT CAFÉ L'OR Le Havre Normandie sustainability initiatives include:

Use of sail power for all classes
A shared carbon calculator to help crews track and reduce emissions
A ban on discharges at sea, especially plastics
A Commitment Award for the most sustainable crew
️ Short supply chains, biowaste sorting, and reusable containers in the start village in Le Havre

This International Coffee Day, we're putting our taste buds to the test! ️

Our CEO Rafael Oliveira joined coffee connoisseurs Nadia Hoarau-Mwaura, Laurent Alexandre Sagarra, Danielle Johnson, René Hendriks and Sara Krant-Scheepmaker for a Blind Coffee Taste Challenge.

Who guessed right? Who got it hilariously wrong? Watch the video and find out!

Proud that Laurent Alexandre Sagarra was asked to present at the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) in New York for the launch of the UNGC Sustainable Procurement framework

Our message was simple: we urgently need to implement responsible sourcing practices that will mitigate climate risks, improve farmer livelihoods and secure the future of coffee for everyone. The coffee industry doesn't exist without its coffee farmers and the time to act is now

️ Exciting milestone today ️

As part of the JACOBS Reignite Programme, we're deepening our commitment to smallholder farmer livelihoods.

Last week, members of our leadership and sustainability teams had the privilege of being on the ground in Kagera, Tanzania, where we're supporting sustainable Robusta coffee production.

Over the past four years, this programme has delivered real, measurable impact:
32,000 farmers reached.
47% increase in regional coffee output, improving farmer livelihoods.
Local farmer advocates driving change within their communities.

Walking side-by-side with farmers, we heard how coffee is becoming a source of economic independence and community prosperity.

Check out the video below and stay tuned for more content from Ricard Barri Valentines, Nadia Hoarau-Mwaura, Dafrosa Sanga, Laurent Alexandre Sagarra, Amy Galbac, Dominique Stichling, Tatiana Efremova, Pavlo Varchuk, and Frederic Desbrosses' time in Tanzania, as well as the JACOBS Reignite Programme.

What is regenerative coffee farming, and why does it matter?

Nature is important for coffee production, and coffee is important for nature.

Regenerative agriculture is a set of farming practices that work with nature, focusing on restoring soil health, increasing biodiversity, protecting water resources and supporting farmer livelihoods.

Think practices like cover cropping (growing plants to protect the soil) and agroforestry (incorporating diverse trees into coffee farms to boost biodiversity, increase shade and diversify sources of income).

The result? Coffee farmers benefit from better yields and income, while the environment heals naturally through climate mitigation.

From Indonesia and Ethiopia to Vietnam, swipe to see how we're working with our strategic partners to build thriving ecosystems that support coffee communities for generations to come.

Smallholder farmers are the backbone of the global coffee sector, yet many still face challenges like low yields and inconsistent quality. Together with our partners, we're working to make coffee production more resilient.

In Ethiopia, our Regrow Yirga project with TechnoServe has trained 56,911 farmers - 44% of them women - and renovated over 2.3 million coffee trees through stumping. The result: increased yields and a more resilient coffee sector.

In Honduras, alongside Fundacion CoHonducafe, we're providing technical assistance and training to 14,940 coffee farmers, with a strong focus on "dry corridor" regions which have extreme climate conditions.

To date, over 22,000 hectares of coffee are under regenerative agricultural practices, promoting climate adaptation and natural resource management, and we've planted 978,174 diverse tree species.

This is how we ensure a coffee for every cup.
