Job Description

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading residential developer to recruit Quantity Surveyors across their newly established Group Procurement function. Applications from junior and senior candidates are welcome!

This is a unique opportunity for a commercially astute construction professional to play a key role in shaping procurement excellence across a diverse portfolio of projects. Reporting directly to the Senior Procurement Manager, the successful candidates will join a high-performing team of Quantity Surveyors and procurement specialists, supporting strategic procurement activities while driving consistency, efficiency, and best practice throughout the business.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting the development and implementation of procurement best practice processes and procedures.
  • Assisting with the management and maintenance of the master procurement programme, ensuring tender activities are accurately tracked and reported.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and issuing tender documentation across a range of subcontract and supplier packages.
  • Reviewing subcontract package scopes to ensure alignment with company standards, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Standardising and coding subcontract pricing documentation to maintain consistency across projects.
  • Undertaking detailed tender analysis, benchmarking returns, negotiating commercial terms, and preparing tender recommendation reports.
  • Supporting the ongoing development and maintenance of market intelligence tools, including inflation and cost tracking mechanisms.
  • Assisting in the preparation of supply chain management reports, presentations, and stakeholder meeting packs.
  • Contributing to innovation and value engineering initiatives through research and analysis of alternative construction methods and procurement approaches.
  • Producing high-quality commercial reports and presentations for senior leadership teams.
  • Supporting the roll-out of a digital procurement strategy and wider procurement transformation projects.
  • Working closely with internal departments and external stakeholders to deliver strategic procurement objectives.
  • Taking on additional responsibilities in line with professional development and progression within the function.
Ideal Experience
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline. Apprenticeships also considered.
  • 3-5 years' post-graduate experience gained within a PQS consultancy or main contracting environment.
  • Strong understanding of construction technology, building methodologies, and commercial management practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently deliver against demanding timescales.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using industry-standard estimating and cost management software such as Cubit, CostX, or similar.
