Quantity Surveyor- Estimator

Our client is a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering major water and wastewater utility projects across Ireland. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their Cork-based team on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Estimator or an electrician with strong site experience who is looking to transition into a commercial role. Full training and ongoing support will be provided, making this an ideal career move for someone looking to develop their skills in quantity surveying and estimating within a well-established and growing business.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in preparing accurate cost estimates for electrical installation works.
- Review tender documentation, specifications, drawings, and contract requirements.
- Prepare commercial pricing for electrical installations, including cabling, containment, and commissioning works.
- Obtain, evaluate, and manage supplier and subcontractor quotations to achieve the best commercial value.
- Support the preparation of tender submissions, cost analyses, and commercial evaluations.
- Identify potential project risks and contribute to value engineering opportunities.
- Maintain and develop the company's historical pricing and estimating database.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in electrical estimating, or practical on-site electrical installation experience with a desire to move into an office-based commercial role.
- A solid understanding of electrical installations, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Experience within the water, wastewater, utilities, or heavy industrial sectors would be advantageous, although not essential.
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under deadlines.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Fluent English and full legal authorisation to work in Ireland.
