A well-established and highly respected construction contractor with a strong presence across Northern Ireland is seeking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team. With offices in both Cookstown and Belfast, the business delivers a diverse portfolio of construction projects across the commercial, residential, education, healthcare and public sectors. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, an opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor looking to further develop their career within a supportive and progressive environment.

Your new role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role within the commercial team, taking responsibility for the financial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account. You will work closely with Project Managers, Site Teams, Clients and Subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered profitably and efficiently.Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and managing project budgets and cost plans
• Procurement and management of subcontractor packages
• Measurement and valuation of works
• Preparation and submission of interim applications and final accounts
• Cost reporting and forecasting
• Identifying and managing project risks and opportunities
• Assessment and agreement of subcontractor valuations
• Managing change control procedures and variations
• Maintaining commercial relationships with clients and stakeholders
• Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and contractual requirements

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will ideally possess:

• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Previous experience working within a contractor environment
• Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and commercial management software
• Full UK driving licence
