Job Summary:

Reporting to the Head of Commercial and Estimating

As a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator within the Commercial Department, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of one of our key business units, Public Lighting. Your responsibilities will include assessing client requirements, reviewing site details/drawings, and preparing accurate cost estimates for the commercial department.

The role is suited to an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to develop in public infrastructure works, cost control, and contract administration.

The successful candidate will receive full and comprehensive training and get valuable exposure across Electric Skyline's projects. We are seeking an enthusiastic, confident, and highly motivated individual with strong technical, financial, and commercial acumen. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, consistently meeting project deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. A high level of proficiency in I.T., coupled with excellent communication and reporting skills, is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:
  • Compile estimations, bills of quantities and quotations for Projects
  • Obtaining quotations from Suppliers & Sub-contractors
  • Management & Tracking of quotations issued to Clients via our CRM System
  • Subcontract management including payment claim assessment
  • Compile Interim Progress Claim Valuations and Final Accounts to Clients
  • Compile & substantiate Variations and Extension of Time Claims to Clients
  • Cost reporting to senior management
  • Assistance with the compilation of Tender submissions for large Projects
  • Assistance with large Contract Management and Administration
  • Interact with the company team to maximise project & financial management, procurement, production and strategies

Person Specification Required Qualifications/Education:

Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Quantity Surveying

Experience:

5+ years post-graduate experience in a QS roles or similar positions desirable

Valid working rights within Ireland

Proven track record working in a team environment, work independently and take instructions

  • Ability to co ordinate and prioritise several projects at the same time.
  • Ability to achieve demanding targets and deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Excellent IT skills with high level of competency in work and excel.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet key deadlines and demands.
  • Ability to present and report on key projects.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear and effective interaction with clients, teams, and contractors.
  • Ability to analyse cost data and project financials with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to negotiate terms with contractors and suppliers to achieve the best value for money.
