Salary Range: £45,000 - £55,000

About the Role
In this exciting position, you will be at the heart of our analytical and modelling capabilities, contributing to the core mandate of our organisation. You will deliver high-quality quantitative analysis that supports debt management policy, market operations, and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research Contribution: Play an essential role in the research work that informs our annual remit advice for HM Treasury.
- Analytical Insights: Conduct in-depth quantitative research to help shape our operations and policy initiatives.
- Forecasting: Assist in forecasting for fiscal events on behalf of the Office for Budget Responsibility.
- Model Enhancements: Help specify and test improvements to our operational systems and analytical tools.
- Data Analysis: Manipulate and analyse large datasets to evaluate auctions and bond syndications.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Respond to technical queries from external stakeholders with clarity and precision.
What We're Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should possess:
- A strong academic background with a good degree (1st or 2:1) in a numerical discipline (eg, maths, physics, statistics) or quantitative finance, with relevant experience or a postgraduate degree.
- Proficiency in programming languages, particularly Python and/or Matlab, alongside Excel.
- Solid understanding of financial markets and economics.
- Demonstrated ability to manipulate and analyse complex data sets.
- Experience using mathematical and statistical techniques for problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
