The Paediatric Haematology, Oncology & BMT / Adult Bone Marrow Transplant & Immune Effector Cell Therapy Quality and Governance Programme operates across the Division of Specialised Services and the Division of Women's and Children's to maintain the quality and safety standards required by our accreditation and regulatory bodies.

Main duties of the job

Provide managerial and administrative support across the Paediatric Haematology, Oncology & BMT / Adult Bone Marrow Transplant & Immune Effector Cell Therapy Quality and Governance Programme, in accordance with the programme's Quality Management Plan. This will involve:

Person specification Qualifications and Training
  • 5 GCSEs (Grades A-C) including English Language and Mathematics, or equivalent
  • Good understanding of English grammar to 'A' level standard or equivalent
  • Educated to A-Level (or equivalent) level
  • Evidence of continued role development
Knowledge and Experience
  • Proven experience of delivering a wide range of administrative tasks to a high standard in a patient/service focussed environment
  • Experience of the delivery of objectives within a constantly changing environment
  • Experience of arranging and minuting meetings and events
  • Experience of working to processes and problem solving within a Multidisciplinary team
  • Experience of using Excel-based databases
  • Quality Management experience or good knowledge of Stem Cell Transplant, CAR-T Cell Therapy, Haematology and Paediatric Oncology pathways, treatments, interventions and terminology
  • Experience of conducting or supporting audits
  • Previous NHS work experience in admin and clerical
  • Experience of working with NHS systems including Careflow, Datix, AMaT, My Staff, Ideagen Quality Management
  • Knowledge of JACIE, HTA and NHSE Paediatric Oncology Service Specification Requirements
Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent IT skills from significant experience of using Microsoft Office 365 applications (Teams, Sharepoint, Outlook, Excel, Word and Powerpoint) and other office-based systems
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to network and build relationships with colleagues of all levels
  • Excellent organisational skills, enabling coordination of a complex workload
  • Ability to act on own initiative and also to agreed policies and procedures
  • Evidence of workload prioritisation
  • Proven ability to make decisions through consultation with others as well as using own initiative
  • Willingness to learn new systems and skills
  • Able to communicate complex information to a wide variety of audiences
