Quality Control Technician - Training Provided

6 Months Fixed-Term Contract£26,436 - £28,000 Preston

Are you looking to develop valuable skills and build a long-term career in Quality Control in the world of complex manufacturing operations and Fast Moving Consumer Goods?

This well-established manufacturer supplies household products to many of the UK's leading retailers and is currently undergoing a significant period of investment and growth. As part of a major site consolidation project, the business is expanding operations near Preston and strengthening its Quality team to support the transition.

In this role you will support the testing & inspection of raw materials, packaging and finished products, helping to ensure everything meets customer specifications. You'll receive hands-on training, work alongside experienced Quality professionals and gain exposure to manufacturing processes within a FMCG environment.

This position would suit a recent graduate with practical laboratory experience, a junior Quality professional looking to enhance their CV, or someone looking to build upon their transferrable skills and begin a career within Quality Control.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Conducting product testing, quality checks and sampling activities on materials and finished products
  • Reviewing specifications, test results and supplier documentation to ensure compliance standards are met
  • Recording quality data, highlighting issues and supporting investigations where required
  • Working closely with Quality and Production teams to maintain consistent product standards

The ideal person will have:

  • Experience in laboratory work, quality testing, sampling, inspection or similar
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures accurately and consistently
  • Good IT skills and confidence recording information and maintaining accurate records
  • A positive attitude, eagerness to learn and an interest in developing a career within Quality
