Quality Assurance Lead - Defence

Location: South West (hybrid + remote)

Rate: £375 per day (Inside IR35)

Duration: 6 months initial (approved up to 12 months)

Clearance: SC required

An opportunity is available on a high-profile government programme focused on modernising healthcare information systems used within a secure operational environment. This programme is delivering a step change in how medical and healthcare data is managed, integrated, and accessed - directly supporting operational effectiveness and decision making.

The Role

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Lead to take ownership of QA strategy and delivery across complex digital and data driven systems. This role is particularly well suited to individuals from a military or defence background, who understand the importance of assurance, structure, and working within controlled environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and deliver a comprehensive QA strategy
  • Lead test planning, execution, automation, and reporting
  • Manage defects, risks, and quality metrics
  • Support UAT and production readiness activities
  • Collaborate with technical teams across data and engineering
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and governance frameworks
  • Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience in QA leadership or senior test roles
  • Strong understanding of testing frameworks and methodologies
  • Experience working with data systems, integration, or digital platforms
  • Background in secure, regulated, or government environments
  • Ability to operate effectively with cross functional teams
