Qualified Maths Teacher - Long-Term Cover

Career Teachers is working closely with a welcoming secondary school in the S17 area of Sheffield to recruit a qualified Maths Teacher for a long-term supply role. This position will begin on 1st June and is expected to continue on an ongoing basis into the new school year, covering a staff sick note.

• Position: Maths Teacher (KS3 & KS4 - KS5 desirable)
• Location: S17, Sheffield
• Start Date: 1st June 2026
• Duration: Ongoing - continuing into the new academic year
• Contract Type: Temporary / Long-term supply
• Working Pattern: Wednesday-Friday (part-time may be considered)
• Daily Rate: £150-£240 (dependent on experience and responsibilities)

Essential Requirements:

• PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching Maths at Key Stage 3 and 4
• Strong behaviour management and classroom presence
• Good knowledge of the UK Maths curriculum
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
• Right to work in the UK
• Two professional references from the last three years
• Ability to commit to a long-term role from June onwards

Desirable Skills & Experience:

• KS5 Maths teaching experience
• Experience covering long-term sickness or planned absence
• Ability to differentiate effectively to meet diverse learning needs
• A calm, reliable, and adaptable teaching approach
• Strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing

• Long-term placement in a local Sheffield school (S17)
• Ongoing support from a dedicated education consultant
