Acorns is a small Village Preschool operating Term Time Only. We are a warm, community-based preschool at the heart of our village, and we are looking for a passionate and experienced Early Years Practitioner to join our friendly team. This is a wonderful opportunity for a nurturing, confident practitioner to join our small team and make a real difference in children's early experiences.

All about the role:

• Create a calm, engaging and stimulating learning environment.
• Plan and deliver high-quality learning in line with the EYFS.
• Monitor children's progress and support next steps.
• Build strong partnerships with parents.
• Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusive practice.
• This is a term-time only position, offering a healthy work-life balance within a supportive and close-knit team.

We Are Looking for Someone Who:

• Holds a full and relevant Early Years Qualification (Level 2 or above)
• Has experience in early years
• Is warm, organised and reflective.
• Understands safeguarding responsibilities.
• Values being part of a village community.

Job description

1. Applicants will need experience working with children and be confident to learn to use our on line learning journey system and be a key person in our setting. To assist with the planning of the curriculum using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for guidance.
2. To act as a key person to a small group of children, liaising closely and building an effective relationship with parents/carers and ensuring each child's needs are recognised and met.
3. To actively participate at team meetings, supervision meetings and appraisal meetings.
4. To attend training courses as required and to take responsibility for personal development.
5. To take action to support the setting to achieve and maintain a minimum good Ofsted rating at the next inspection.
6. To teach children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulating play experiences.
7. To ensure that children are kept safe and that you understand when to follow child protection procedures.
