Purchase Ledger Clerk - Excel London Full-Time / Permanent

We're looking for a collaborative Purchase Ledger Clerk to join the team at Excel London - one of Europe's largest and most successful venues, hosting some 400 events per year!

As Purchase Ledger Clerk you'll be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all purchases, supplier invoices, and payments. This diverse and integral role ensures compliance with Compass Group financial procedures and company standards by accurately entering all orders into the Compass Purchase Ordering Log - Foodbuy (FBOL).

Working closely with the Location Accountants and operational teams, you will play a key role in ensuring financial records are maintained efficiently and accurately.

Purchase Ledger Clerk - The role
  • Own day-to-day purchasing, supplier charges, and PO compliance using Compass FBOL.
  • Manage goods receiptingto ensure operationalreadiness and suppliercoordination.
  • Serve as theFBOL expert forpurchase orders, goodsreceipting, and supplierinvoices.
  • Maintain accurate, error-free data acrossFBOL and SAPsystems.
  • Reconcile supplier statements, accrued POs, andsupport month-endfinancial close.
  • Process non-EDIinvoices, onboard newsuppliers, and ensurepolicy compliance.
  • Produce weekly purchasing, delivery, invoice, andgoods received reports.
  • Resolve invoice, PO, and supplier discrepancieswhile ensuring Compassand Levy standards.
  • Build strong relationshipswith suppliers, HODs, the purchasing team, and finance stakeholders.
  • Drive process improvements, deliver purchasing training, and support wider finance activities.
What we're looking for
  • Experience with data analysis, accounts payable and administration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong numeracy skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Engaging, enthusiastic, and self-motivated.
  • Exceptional administration and organisational abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
