Job Description

We are the Armenian Artificial Intelligence Company (AAIC): a band of scientists, engineers, designers and writers. We work globally, writing singular software for various clients: from a device that helps professional chefs to narrative games to city simulations.

Ours is an RnD-heavy operation. Clients expect us not only to write code or design software, but to provide meaningful advice on how best to develop their product. Same works internally: frankly, no one really knows how to design or write for AI yet, so we're developing a lot of techniques and tools no one yet uses.

To support all this, we're looking for a leader who's able to supervise shipping software while maintaining a strong research stance.

What we'll be looking at:

  • Hands-on experience in engineering: at some point in time, you wrote your own code without help from AI. Doesn't have to be industrial software, could be your own automation script.
  • Hands-on experience in software design: at some point you designed a website, an app, a prototype-doesn't matter. Posters, magazines or illustrations don't count, although it's a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in writing: you wrote an essay, a novel, a story, an academic paper, an article-we'll accept any piece of fiction in any language except social media posts (so no technical documentation or project briefs).
  • You led engineering or software groups and shipped something.
  • You speak fluent English.

To be clear, we won't need you to code or design, but we need experience in these areas.

This position is fully remote. It pays the equivalent of $3k-$4k after taxes give or take- depending on your tax status and location. There are also very clear paths to higher pay from day one.

What we will NOT be looking at:

  • Years of experience.
  • Big names in your CV.
  • We'll read the CV if you send it, but it doesn't matter that much in general.

To apply, you'll need to write Dalet at and provide the following:

  • Show a single piece of software you wrote single-handedly or heavily contributed to.
  • Show a single piece of design you created.
  • Show a piece of long-form writing you wrote (doesn't have to be in English, but needs to be fiction).
  • Write about the best project you led (doesn't have to be commercial or large, needs to be interesting).

All applications via EasyApply will be ignored. As an AI company, we're very good at spotting LLM writing. A human will read your application and always respond by hand, so please extend the same courtesy.

What's next?

1. A call where someone will introduce our company and you'll have an opportunity to ask questions.

2. If all's well, a call where we'll assess your taste and erudition in design, engineering, science and product management methodologies.

3. A rather unusual test problem where we'll give you a small, but real project management problem in a fantasy project, have you ask questions, diagnose the core issues and propose solutions.

Because of payment issues, we can't work with people physically located in China, Russia, Belarus, Iran and other sanctioned countries.

  • If you feel the need to anonymise your application, go ahead.
