Public Procurement Specialist - Portlaoise

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Public Procurement Specialist to join a Public Sector organisation in Portlaoise, Co. Laois.

Previous Public Procurement experience essential.

The Role:

Reporting into the procurement function, you will manage end-to-end public sector procurement processes, ensuring full compliance with EU and national procurement regulations while supporting value-for-money outcomes across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage tender processes (RFT/RFQ) in line with public procurement guidelines
• Ensure compliance with EU Directive 2014/24/EU and national procurement frameworks
• Draft tender documentation, evaluation criteria, and contract award reports
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and external suppliers throughout the procurement lifecycle
• Support audits and maintain robust procurement records

Requirements:

• Proven experience in public sector/public procurement (essential)
• Strong knowledge of EU procurement law and frameworks
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Relevant third-level qualification (procurement, law, or business) preferred
• Public Procurement Law qualification/certification an advantage
