Job Opportunity: Consultant in Public Health Medicine / Public Health

Location: King's Cross, Dundee

Organization: NHS Tayside, Directorate of Public Health

Contract: Fixed term for 6 months, full-time (10 PAs / 40 hrs per week; 37 hrs for Agenda for Change)

Role: Full-time on-call commitment, with potential to coordinate screening programmes. Exact job plan negotiable.

Team & Environment: Join a well-established, supportive multidisciplinary team involved in Health Protection, Health Improvement, Health Intelligence, and Healthcare Public Health, led by experienced Consultants and senior management. The Directorate collaborates with NHS Tayside, partner agencies, Local Authorities, primary care, Police Scotland, third sector, and the University of Dundee.

On-call: 1 in 8 frequency

Candidate Requirements: GMC registration with inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register (Public Health Medicine) or eligible within six months, or CCT in public health with UKPHR registration or eligibility.

Terms: Successful candidates will be offered a post under the new Consultant Contract or Agenda for Change, depending on qualifications.
