We are currently seeking a highly motivated Psychologist - Senior Grade to join our team in CH07 (based in Mid Kildare).

Contract Type: Permanent Part Time

Contract Hours: 28 hours per week (0.8 WTE)

Salary Scale: €97,978-€115,166 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI's (Long Service Increments).

This pay scale is subject to increases in 2026 in accordance with the recent WRC agreement towards enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations.

Annual Leave Entitlement: 34 days pro rata per annum.

Overview of the Post

Enable Ireland delivers children's services through the Children's Disability Network Teams (CDNT) under the national Progressing Disabilities Services (PDS) model for children and young people with complex needs arising from a disability. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a range of Psychology services for young people (0-18 years) and their families within an interdisciplinary framework. Service will include assessment and intervention, clinical supervision and ongoing service development. This will be delivered through a family centred approach across a variety of settings including the clinic, preschools, schools, children's homes and community settings.

Overview of Duties & Responsibilities

• Assess and intervene in mental health needs presented by children and young people with disabilities.
• Provide clinical supervision and support to the interdisciplinary team.
• Implement psychological assessment and diagnostic work ups including ASD, developmental delay and intellectual disability.
• Develop and evaluate interventions suitable for a range of disabilities including physical disability, autism and learning disability.
• Engage with families supporting children from birth to 18 years, ensuring culturally sensitive and family centred support.
• Collaborate with preschools, schools, children's homes and community settings to deliver integrated services.
• Contribute to ongoing service development and improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with statutory and organisational requirements.
• Participate in training and professional development activities to sustain expertise.

Qualifications

• University degree or diploma (QQ1 level 8) in Psychology with 1st or 2nd class honours.
• Irish postgraduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology, or an equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health.
• Demonstrated competence in the Care Group(s) applied for.
• At least five years of satisfactory post graduate experience in professional psychology, including a minimum of two years full time post qualification experience.
• For clinical or counselling psychology qualifications: at least 60 days supervised clinical placements or post qualification supervised work experience in Disability (Child and Adult), Child Psychology or Adult Psychology.
• For educational psychology qualifications: at least 60 days supervised clinical placements or post qualification supervised work experience in Child Disability or Child Psychology.
• Member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or the British Psychological Society (BPS).
• Valid driving licence with access to own transport.
• Current eligibility to work in the state.
• Previous experience in a senior post.
• Experience of interdisciplinary team working.
