Enable Ireland provides services to over 13,000 children and adults with disabilities and their families from 43 locations across 14 counties. Our interdisciplinary teams work with each individual and their family to develop life stage plans, covering early infancy through adolescence for children and personal development for adults.

We are seeking a highly motivated Psychologist (basic grade) to join our Children's Disability Network Team based at Curraheen, Cork.

Contract and Salary

Contract Type: Permanent

Contract Hours: 35 hours per week

Salary Scale: €60,342 to €105,535 pro rata per annum (subject to LSI's long service increments and 2026 pay adjustments in accordance with the recent WRC agreement for Section 39 organisations).

Annual Leave Entitlement: 34 days per annum

Role Overview

Provide a range of psychological services to children aged 0 18 years on the Early Years / School Age team and their families who attend the Children's Disability Network Team (CDNT). Operate within an interdisciplinary framework and family centered practice, supporting other staff and students as assigned. A strong focus is on intervention within the team, supported by regular clinical supervision from a Senior Psychologist.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver psychological assessments, including diagnostic evaluations for Autism and Intellectual Disability.
  • Develop and implement evidence based interventions for children and adolescents with complex needs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, sharing progress and contributing to family centered care plans.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • University degree or diploma (QQ1 level 8 equivalent) with first or second class honours, majoring in Psychology.
  • Irish post graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology, or an equivalent qualification validated by the Department of Health.
  • Member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • Minimum of 60 days supervised clinical placement or post qualification supervised work experience in the relevant care group area (Child Disability, Child Psychology, Adult Psychology). Note: combined placement and work experience of 60 days is not acceptable.
  • Experience working with children and/or adolescents and their families with complex needs.
  • Knowledge and skills in conducting diagnostic assessments in children and young people, including Autism and ID.
  • Knowledge of the HSE Progressing Disability Services Programme and Enable Ireland Services.
  • Experience working within a complex disability team and interdisciplinary team working.
