Psychological Therapist/Practitioner Psychologist

We are looking for a psychologist or psychological therapist to join the Greater Manchester Student Mental Health Team.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced therapist who would like to develop their understanding and skills of working with complex and co-morbid mental health presentations using a trauma informed perspective. Our friendly team already includes a Consultant clinical psychologist Lead, 2 Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologists, Clinical Psychologist and CBT therapist. We sit within a multi-disciplinary team to provide a needs-led trauma informed service.
ResponsibilitiesYou will provide assessment and formulation of clinical needs, intervention (individual and group based) and supervision, CPD and reflective practice to inform a psychological perspective to team working.
You will support the psychology team in continuing to build strong and mutually supportive relationships within our University partnership and may provide outreach to one of the University sites.

- Relevant experience treating anxiety, depression and trauma related problems
- Experience of supervising staff from non-therapeutic backgrounds
- Have a thorough understanding of common mental health and trauma
- Have well developed communication skills to effectively communicate, often complex and sensitive information, information orally and in writing
- Knowledge of the role of substances and addiction in mental health and trauma presentations
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
£47,810 to £54,710 a year per annum pro rata
