The PVO team, within the Engineering Parts Logistics team, is a critical area in Product Engineering (PE) involved in creating prototype vehicles. Operating under the Product Engineering Operations (PEO) function, we handle all prototype vehicle build preparations. We serve as a key interface between Vehicle Programme, Vehicle Engineering, and Manufacturing teams, developing strategies for successful prototype builds. We are currently expanding our product portfolio, making this an exciting period for the team.

The main purpose of this role is to support pre-production builds by managing delivery promises from external suppliers, ensuring these meet build requirements, and escalating issues as needed. Part ownership spans from dispatch to receipt in storage locations, and building supplier relationships is essential, along with ensuring all Non Released Parts (NRP) are delivered on time.

• Ensure all delivery promises are entered within 1 week of receipt.
• Achieve at least 87% of parts for the first car of each schedule received by MRD (More Great Products Faster). Ensure zero build stoppages and zero POF (Point of Fit) losses for all prototype builds involving NRPs. Ensure all shipping collections for NRPs are timely using the most cost-efficient transport modes.
• Negotiate delivery dates with suppliers to support multiple prototype production builds for new products and battery production.
• Support engineering in exporting materials to suppliers to meet JLR's prototype build requirements.
• Negotiate production slots with internal Tool Rooms and 3D printing operations aligned with prototype build needs.
• Visit key suppliers to review delivery performance and identify opportunities to improve supplier performance and relationships, adhering to Customer Love principles.
• Understand and adopt Agile methodologies, raising and resolving obstacles to on-time supply from the supply base.
• Work towards and achieve objectives outlined in the departmental scorecard.
• Collaborate closely with PE teams to ensure successful build events.
• Support relevant prototype build activities, chair supplier meetings to review part supply status, and resolve issues.
• Perform any other tasks as directed by the line manager related to this role.
