Property Surveyor interim contact - Staffordshire-based Housing Association - Flexible and Hybrid Working

Hays is proud to be working in partnership with a prominent housing association in Staffordshire to recruit a Property Surveyor to join their Asset & Property team. This is a key role supporting the delivery of high-quality repairs, planned maintenance, and compliance services across their housing stock.Job Title: Property Surveyor x3 vacancies.

Location: Staffordshire.
Salary: Competitive hourly rate (Circa £20-£30 p/h DoE).
Job Type: Interim contract / 3-6 months+.
Hours: Flexible - 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm.
Your new role
Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out pre- and post-inspections, compliance checks, and condition surveys.
  • Conduct HHSRS assessments, fire door inspections, asbestos re-inspections, and other safety-related visits.
  • Support the delivery of the Asset Management Strategy and planned investment works.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Provide technical advice on disrepair, damp and mould, and complex repairs.
  • Assist with customer complaints and ensure a high standard of service delivery.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota alongside other surveyors.
What you'll need to succeed
  • Strong understanding of HHSRS, Decent Homes Standard, and condition surveys in a social housing context.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. P405, P402, NEBOSH Fire, HHSRS Practitioner) or willingness to work towards them.
  • Experience managing contractors and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
