Job Description - Property Paralegal (26795)

Salary circa £29,236 per annum plus benefits including health cash plan.

Temporary (18 months contract), full time (37.5 hours per week), hybrid working.

Newcastle City Centre.

Job Summary

As our Property Paralegal at Home Group, you play a pivotal role in the legal world of housing. You ensure smooth sailing through the complex waters of housing law, handling paperwork and making a real difference in people's lives.

Responsibilities
  • Dive into legal research, especially for anti social behaviour cases, to build robust legal strategies and understand potential actions.
  • Draft and prepare vital legal documents for disrepair cases and handle legal aspects of property access issues, such as inspections and repairs.
  • Serve as the crucial communication hub, liaising seamlessly between lawyers, courts, and other legal entities, and ensuring all paperwork is spot on.
  • Meticulously compile and organise evidence for various cases, including contracts, ASB reports, repair records, and witness statements.
  • Engage in client communications, gathering case details and explaining legal processes, ensuring clarity and understanding.
  • Manage a diverse caseload, including possession claims, injunction applications, and advising on landlord and tenant matters, maintaining efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Solid experience or a burning desire to grow in Property Litigation, whether you are an old hand or new to the game.
  • Ability to handle various legal cases, from rent arrears and anti social behaviour to disrepair claims and unauthorised occupiers.
  • Strong organisational skills; managing evidence and documents is paramount.
  • Excellent communication skills for client interactions and liaising with courts and legal professionals.
  • Self management of your diary, including flexibility for longer lunch breaks.
  • Hybrid work requirement: 2 days in the office, 3 days working at home.
  • Tech proficiency.
  • Deep understanding of relevant laws and Civil Procedure Rules - Housing Acts and CPR parts 7, 8, 20, and 56.
