Property Legal Counsel

Gloucestershire (Hybrid Working)

Permanent or Fixed-Term Contract Considered

Competitive Salary + Benefits

I'm working with an exciting organisation operating within the energy and infrastructure sector to recruit a Property Legal Counsel.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded property lawyer looking to take on a broad, business-facing role within a forward-thinking organisation. Whether you're seeking a permanent position or are interested in a fixed-term contract opportunity, the business is open to considering the right individual.

Working closely with key stakeholders across the organisation, you'll advise on a diverse range of property and development matters, supporting major projects that play a critical role in the organisation's continued growth.

This role offers the opportunity to move beyond purely transactional work, giving you direct exposure to commercial decision-making, strategic projects, and senior stakeholders across the business.

The Role

You'll provide legal support across a varied portfolio of property and land matters, including:

  • Supporting the acquisition, development, management, and disposal of property and land assets.
  • Negotiating and advising on a range of development, land, and property-related agreements.
  • Managing title due diligence, identifying risks, and providing practical solutions.
  • Preparing and reviewing Certificates of Title to support financing and investment activity.
  • Handling Land Registry matters, registrations, and title enquiries.
  • Advising on restrictive covenants, easements, overage arrangements, rights of light, and other property-related risks.
  • Supporting large-scale, multi-site development projects across the UK.
  • Working closely with development, commercial, and operational teams to support business objectives.
  • Assisting with the property elements of corporate transactions, refinancing exercises, and asset disposals.
  • Managing relationships with external legal advisers where required.

About You

We're keen to hear from candidates who:

  • Are qualified Solicitors in England & Wales.
  • Have experience advising on commercial property, real estate, development, or land matters.
  • Have gained experience either in private practice or in-house.
  • Enjoy working closely with stakeholders and becoming a trusted business partner.
  • Take a pragmatic, commercially focused approach to legal advice.
  • Are comfortable managing a varied workload in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Experience within energy, infrastructure, development, utilities, or related sectors would be beneficial but is not essential.

Why Apply?

  • Work on high-profile development and infrastructure projects
  • Be part of a growing and ambitious organisation
  • Broad, commercially focused in-house role
  • Significant stakeholder exposure and influence
  • Opportunity to develop beyond traditional property law
  • Flexible hiring approach with permanent and FTC options available
  • Hybrid working and supportive team culture
