Project Worker, Greenhills South Dublin Aftercare
Location: Dublin
Contract: Full Time, Permanent Contract
The purpose of this position is to work as part of the Aftercare Team on a 7 day rota to provide care and support for the young people resident in the project as they prepare for independent living.
What you will do:- Work within the overall aims and objectives of Focus Ireland and in line with organisational policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement individual care plans to support residents in progressing towards independent living.
- Provide holistic support to young people, including self care, health, budgeting, domestic skills, and confidence building.
- Advocate on behalf of residents in areas such as housing, social work, social welfare, education, training, and legal rights.
- Liaise with and refer residents to relevant external agencies and services.
- Provide one to one support and key working to residents within the project.
- Assist in the planning and facilitation of group work sessions for residents.
- Work as part of a rota covering a 7 day service.
- Support the maintenance of a clean, safe, and well managed living environment within the project.
- Maintain accurate case records, statistics, and provide regular updates to the Project Leader on individual cases.
- Attend meetings, supervision sessions, training, and contribute to project evaluation and service development.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, work collaboratively with other Focus Ireland services, and undertake additional duties as assigned by management.
- A Third Level qualification at degree level in the area of social care i.e. youth work, social studies, addiction, psychology etc and/or be a CORU registered Social Care Worker.
- Extensive, relevant work experience working with young people in care or marginalised young people.
- Experience of key-working clients or individual case-work.
- Experience of managing challenging behaviour.
- Good understanding of the issues affecting young people leaving care and in aftercare.
