About the Organisation

In June 2025, the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care introduced two key frameworks: the Population Health Framework and the Service Renewal Framework (SRF). The SRF sets out an ambitious vision to drive innovation and enable more integrated delivery across Scotland's health and care services. As part of this transformation, NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) will come together to form a new organisation: Public Services Delivery Scotland in April 2026. The new organisation will play a pivotal role in supporting the renewal and long term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland. The Post

Digital Delivery & Assurance (DD&A) (formerly Portfolio Delivery Services) plays a critical role in enabling successful digital and transformation delivery across NHSScotland. We provide professional assurance, governance, and delivery support across portfolios, programmes, and projects of national significance.

Our multidisciplinary team brings together expertise in:

  • Programme and Project Management
  • Project and Business Support
  • Governance, Assurance, and Reporting
  • Digital and service transformation

With a strong track record in delivering complex, high impact change, DD&A supports initiatives ranging from service redesign to long term strategic programmes shaping healthcare delivery for the future.

The Candidate

We are expanding our Project Support Officer (PSO) cohort and are seeking 2 motivated, organised, and professional individuals to join our growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to high profile digital and transformation projects, providing essential support that underpins effective delivery, strong governance, and successful outcomes.

As a Project Support Officer, you will:

  • Support the coordination of all phases of project and programme delivery
  • Maintain accurate and timely project documentation, plans, and logs
  • Assist with reporting, governance, and assurance activities
  • Support effective stakeholder engagement and communication
  • Contribute to the smooth operation of a busy project and programme office
  • Ensure high quality standards are maintained while meeting competing deadlines

You will demonstrate:

  • Recent experience working in a project office or project support environment
  • A proven track record in project coordination, administration, or business support
  • Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to workload management
  • An understanding of project management principles and lifecycle deliveryConfidence in working with a wide range of stakeholders
  • A desire to develop your skills and progress within project and programme delivery
Location and Working Pattern

These posts can be based at Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow.

The team operates a hybrid working model, with an increasing expectation to attend office and customer sites regularly.

The work pattern is Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week.

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with PSDS.
