About Track Division:

Técnicas Reunidas has defined its strategy for a low carbon economy under track. track develops its activities under four verticals: the hydrogen value chain, biofuels, carbon capture and methane.

track has three pillars:

Project delivery: from project co-development to the delivery of engineering services in early stages of project definition.

Asset decarbonization, with new services targeted to carbon and methane management.

New industries, managing the positioning of Técnicas Reunidas in carbon intensive industries.

This strategy is managed under a dedicated business unit within Técnicas Reunidas.


Role Overview

At track we are seeking a highly motivated, proactive, and innovative Project Origination Associate to join our Origination Team focused on low carbon projects in Europe. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the origination of new opportunities and the early stages of the project development process. This position requires a deep understanding of the different industries, project technical features, sector regulatory boundaries, market players, offtake dynamics, progress on nascent and available technologies, commercial contractual schemes, funding alternatives, and business fundamentals to properly identify project leads and build a solid project development portfolio mainly in the hydrogen, bio and e-fuels, and carbon capture verticals.


Key Responsibilities

1.Overall Responsibilities:

Search, assess, and identify potential leads (greenfield and brownfield) for project development, either self-originated by track or in co-development with the project sponsor

Map out the ongoing projects in the market per geography, industry, low carbon technology, sponsor/investor, and public funding availability

Assist in the elaboration and regular update of track's Commercial Plan and any other track's business unit procedure ensuring alignment with strategic goals, budget constraints, and quality standards

Analyze the underlying business case for any potential opportunity taking a 360-degree approach and performing a high-level risk assessment together with mitigation strategies

Understand project preliminary engineering studies and associated technologies and coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines at track to further understand the technical value proposition for each opportunity

Collaborate with internal and external teams including estimate department, technology and engineering, legal advisors, and financial experts to create compelling business cases for the Executive Committee's review

Support the Project Development Team to develop case studies and techno-economic analysis to evaluate the viability of proposed solutions

Stay abreast of new lines of business, policy developments, and competitor activities within the energy transition target markets


2.Technological Expertise

Stay up to date with the latest technologies in low carbon engineering, including follow up of in-house developed analysis and reports and publicly available information

3.Business Knowledge

Grasp the business fundamentals from every project dimension (financial, commercial, regulatory and technical)

Fluency in understanding financial modelling

Develop a sound understanding of low carbon regulatory requirements and market trends to identify how these may impact each project business case


4.Stakeholder Management

Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, investors, public funding consultants, feedstock suppliers, industrial offtakers, OEMs and licensors, O&M providers, and legal advisors to secure project buy-in and support

Attend industry events and specific workshops to follow market trends and cultivate key relationships with both industry incumbents and disruptors


5.Communication

Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Prepare and present reports and project updates to senior management and stakeholders to support decision-making processes

Provide guidance and mentorship to project analysts and interns, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing

Qualifications


A.Education

Master's degree in engineering or any related field

B.Experience

5+ years of experience in energy project origination or advisory working for an energy transition developer or renowned consulting firm

Proven track record of actively working in the origination of solid project portfolios

C.Required skills

Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams across various disciplines

High proficiency in Microsoft Outlook

Languages: full professional proficiency in English. Fluency in German is a plus.

Availability to travel 75% of the time, mainly within Europe

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for building relationships influencing stakeholders.
