Project Officer - Public Service Improvement Framework

Post Title: Project Officer - Public Service Improvement Framework

Salary: £32,651 - £35,656 per year

Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Location: Hybrid/Livingston. The post-holder may be required to attend events across Scotland on occasion, therefore some travel is anticipated.

Duration of contract: Fixed term until 30 June 2026

An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Improvement Service in the role of PSIF (Public Service Improvement Framework) Project Officer.

The purpose of the role of PSIF Project Officer is to work collaboratively to deliver tangible and sustained improvements across the public sector. The officer will support a range of PSIF projects and self-assessments across a variety of public sector organisations, such as councils and community planning partnerships.

About the role

The role requires the ability to support a wide range of public sector bodies to implement the PSIF self-assessment framework. The project officer will be required to provide self-assessment support to corporate management teams, service level managers and frontline staff. This will include how to apply the PSIF checklists; analysis of checklist findings; and facilitation of consensus and improvement planning sessions.

  • A knowledge and understanding of project management skills.
  • A self-directed workstyle and pro-active approach.
  • Ability to undertake qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Ability to adopt innovative and creative practice.
  • Ability to build and preserve effective relationships with partners/stakeholders.

Competency-based interviews will take place on 11 June 2025. Shortlisted candidates will be advised by email a week in advance of the interview.
