Are you a natural communicator with a flair for engagement? Do you want to make a meaningful difference to protected coastal wildlife, such as beach-nesting and wintering birds, in one of the UK's most amazing coastal landscapes?
We're on the lookout for an enthusiastic and people-focused Project Officer to help us inspire, inform, and connect with communities and activity groups across the Norfolk Coast Protected Landscape.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a small, dedicated team working to protect and enhance a unique and beautiful part of the country - where nature, heritage, and sustainable livelihoods go hand-in-hand.
The role is to provide maternity cover for one year.
What You'll Be Doing:As our Engagement Project Officer, you'll bring our award-winning identity to life across a range of outreach and communication projects. You will:
- Lead the planning and delivery of outdoor nature-based events that inspire and engage different stakeholders, such as dog-walkers, schools, watersports users, and more.
- Play a key part in raising awareness and encouraging positive behaviours around our most vulnerable wildlife, particularly beach-nesting and wintering birds that depend on Norfolk's unique coastal habitats.
- Work closely with landowners, land managers, and local communities to promote best practices and positive behaviours in our protected landscapes.
- Develop and roll out clear, inclusive, and consistent signage around sensitive areas.
- Create compelling content for social media, newsletters, and publications to support the wider work of the Norfolk Coast Protected Landscape and our partners.
- Deliver our Communications Strategy with creativity and care.
We're seeking someone who is:
- Skilled in engagement - comfortable leading events and talking to diverse audiences.
- Experienced in project delivery, with the ability to manage multiple strands of work.
- Confident creating accessible and inclusive campaigns.
- A great team player with the ability to build strong partnerships across sectors.
- Experienced in engaging with volunteers and developing volunteer networks.
- Interested in protecting coastal wildlife, particularly beach-nesting and wintering birds.
- Most importantly, we're looking for someone who cares - about people, place, and making a difference for our species and landscapes.
