Job Description

Job summary


We are looking for maritime Project Managers with Electrical bias, to will join a highly reputable shipbuilding company in the Netherlands and work on major Defense projects.


Our client is a world class leader in advanced electrical engineering and automation solutions. With over 100 years on the market and a recognized reputation for excellence, they are one of the most prominent companies in the field.


As the business keeps growing, we are looking for a passionate Project Manager, with a background of working on shipbuilding projects in Electrical Engineering and Automation solutions, to join the tea.


The role is hybrid, with 1 day/week in the office, shipyard visits/travel as needed and the rest remote. Company car is provided. Candidates must reside in the Netherlands or be willing to relocate. Relocation package is provided by the company.


Main responsibilities


  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of project requirements, ensuring timely and budget-compliant project completion with Safety as a top priority
  • Oversee new build projects for super yachts, actively participating in on-site work. All projects focus on advanced electrical engineering and automation
  • Serve as the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders;
  • Develop project plans outlining progress and forecasts;
  • Manage changes in project scope using appropriate verification techniques;
  • Define resource availability needs;
  • Create project documentation;
  • Drive budgetary targets and constraints through financial analysis;
  • Leading your team throughout the project.
  • Collaborating with the technical project manager and production supervisor forms a triangle that places you at the core of project developments.


Experience and qualifications


  • A technical BSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, IT/AV or similar;
  • Background knowledge in Electrical Engineering and/or Automation;
  • Previous experience in the Shipbuilding industry;
  • Previous experience working on Defense projects would be a significant advantage;
  • Experience with IPMA or PMI project management methodology at level C/D;
  • Candidates must hold the pre-existing legal right to live/work in the EU
  • English language is a must. Dutch language would be an advantage.


Location: Anywhere in the Netherlands - flexible location. 1 day/week in Gelderland. Regular travel to shipyards in the Netherlands as needed.
