On behalf of our client, Royal London. We are looking for a Project Manager (Data Migration) for a 18 Month contract based in Edinburgh (3 days per week in office).

The Role and Responsibilities:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of a complex technical work package within data migration programme. This is a high-impact role supporting the migration of policies ensuring smooth integration across systems and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing end-to-end software delivery and data migration initiatives, particularly within the insurance or financial services sector. You will work closely with internal Royal London teams and multiple third-party delivery partners, driving progress through effective planning, governance, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Proven experience managing large-scale data migration or system integration projects within financial services.
  • Exposure to large-scale system migrations or policy administration transitions.
  • Lead the delivery of a technical workstream within the broader data migration programme, ensuring milestones are achieved to time, cost, and quality.
  • Own and maintain detailed project plans, RAID logs, and delivery documentation across the full software development life cycle.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage dependencies between internal Royal London teams and external partners.
  • Facilitate workshops and governance forums, ensuring clear communication of project status, risks, and decisions.
  • Drive issue resolution and proactive risk mitigation through effective RAID management and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Support technical teams and business SMEs through design, build, test, and implementation phases.
  • Ensure compliance with Royal London's project management and change delivery frameworks.
  • Champion collaboration and continuous improvement across the programme delivery environment.

What We Require from the Candidate:

  • Strong end-to-end project management capability, from initiation through to deployment.
  • Hands-on experience managing detailed plans, RAID logs, and delivery governance.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience coordinating multiple third-party suppliers and internal delivery teams.
  • Strong understanding of software delivery life cycles (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid).
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach with the ability to influence and drive outcomes.
  • Previous experience in insurance, pensions, or broader financial services.
  • Familiarity with data migration tooling and methodologies.
