Job Description
Project Support Officer - PMO
Day Rate Contract Opportunity Location: Glasgow

Are you an organised and proactive project professional with experience in project planning, reporting and stakeholder management? Looking for an opportunity to contribute to a high-profile programme of work, supporting the delivery of important projects and helping drive improvements across a growing team?

We are currently recruiting for a Project Support Officer to join a busy Project Management Office (PMO), providing essential coordination, planning and reporting support across a varied portfolio of projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities and working collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels to ensure projects are delivered effectively.

The RoleAs Project Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting project planning, monitoring progress and maintaining accurate project information. Working closely with project managers, senior leaders and wider teams, you will help ensure projects remain organised, risks are identified and key milestones are achieved.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting the development, implementation and ongoing management of project plans and delivery frameworks.
  • Developing and maintaining delivery plans, ensuring objectives, milestones, dependencies and success measures are clearly defined.
  • Coordinating project reporting, analysing performance information and providing updates to support informed decision-making.
  • Organising project meetings and activities, including preparing agendas, recording minutes and tracking actions and decisions.
  • Maintaining project documentation, ensuring records are accurate, accessible and up to date.
  • Managing project risks, actions, issues and dependencies, escalating concerns where appropriate.
  • Supporting resource planning and maintaining accurate information across project management systems.
  • Managing shared inboxes, document libraries and collaboration platforms such as SharePoint.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal teams, senior stakeholders and external partners.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve project processes, reporting tools and ways of working to support greater efficiency.
We are keen to hear from candidates who have experience in project support, PMO coordination, project administration or project management, and who can demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Experience developing and maintaining project or delivery plans, including clear objectives, milestones and measures of success.
  • Experience supporting project or programme planning and reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across different teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage, influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders.
  • The ability to manage multiple competing priorities while responding effectively to changing demands and ad hoc requests.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate, high-quality project information.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, identifying risks and suggesting improvements to existing processes.

Experience working within a PMO or supporting a complex programme of work would be advantageous.
We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, communicates confidently and can deliver high-quality support in a changing environment. You will be comfortable working with a range of stakeholders, making sound decisions and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
