Overview

Project Manager - Location: Coalville - Shift: 4 days on-site, Fridays WFH - Day Rate: £650/day Umbrella or £500/day PAYE + £60/day holiday pay - Hours: Monday-Friday, 07:00-17:00 (10-hour days) - Contract: 12 Months

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to take support a key workstream within a large-scale, multi-million-pound automation programme.

You will be working as part of a wider programme team alongside multiple Senior Project Managers, Programme Leadership, Project Schedulers, and engineering delivery teams to ensure the successful execution of a complex automation rollout.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a defined workstream within a wider automation programme
  • Coordinate installation, testing, and commissioning activities
  • Lead project planning, scheduling, and progress reporting
  • Control budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking activities
  • Manage customer relationships and key internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and engineering delivery teams
  • Ensure programme milestones are achieved safely, on time, and to quality standards
  • Support handover into operational service and maintenance phases

About You

We are looking for a proven Project Manager with strong experience delivering automation and engineering-led projects. You will be confident managing multiple stakeholders and delivering complex technical packages within structured programme environments.

Essential & Desirable Experience
  • Proven experience delivering warehouse automation or material handling projects
  • Strong background in industrial automation environments
  • Hands-on experience across installation, testing, and commissioning phases
  • Experience working with conveyor systems, robotics, and automated warehouse technologies
  • Strong stakeholder management and customer-facing experience
  • Experience with systems such as Dematic, Vanderlande, KNAPP, or SSI Schaefer
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary, on-site delivery teams
  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background
  • PMP and/or PRINCE2 certification
  • Strong problem-solving, diplomatic, and delivery-focused approach
