Project Manager - Infrastructure Delivery (Engineering & Construction)
Duration: 15 months initial
Location: Northeast - Local candidates preferred (2 days/week onsite)

This is a *Northeast England* Hybrid based role with an excellent immediate start within a Public Sector organisation working on *Managing project scope, programme, cost, risk and quality.*

Do you have experience delivering infrastructure projects within sectors such as rail, highways, water, utilities, construction, energy or nuclear?

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a major programme delivering projects that reduce flood risk, protect communities, and improve the environment.

Working within integrated project teams, you will act as the client-side Project Manager, leading projects through the full life cycle from planning and feasibility through design, construction, and handover. You will work closely with contractors, consultants, technical specialists, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to agreed outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of infrastructure projects from inception through to completion.
  • Manage project scope, programme, cost, risk and quality.
  • Ensure health, safety and environmental considerations remain at the forefront of delivery.
  • Manage contracts and supplier performance throughout the project life cycle.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support governance, reporting and decision-making processes.
  • Contribute to a collaborative project environment focused on successful delivery.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven project delivery experience within infrastructure sectors such as rail, highways, water, utilities, construction, civil engineering or nuclear.
  • Experience managing projects through design and construction phases.
  • Contract management experience.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Teams and Project.
  • Demonstrable commitment to health, safety and wellbeing.
  • Ability to commute to and work within the local area.

Highly Desirable

  • Experience using FastDraft and/or Projects Online.
  • Knowledge of NEC4 contracts.
  • Chartered status or membership of a relevant professional body such as ICE, APM or CIWEM.
  • Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Engineering, Environmental, Geography or a related discipline.
  • Experience in areas such as asset management, business case development, cost forecasting, CDM, engineering design, construction delivery, or river/flood risk projects.
