Project Manager - Databricks

RED is currently working with one of our Pharmaceutical clients to hire experienced Project Manager with hands-on familiarity in Data bricks and modern data platforms to drive planning, execution, and delivery of data engineering, analytic, and AI initiatives. You'll work closely with data engineering, platform, and security teams to deliver Lake house solutions using Apache Spark, Delta Lake, ML flow, and Unity Catalogue on Data bricks.

Duration - 6 months + extensions

Location - Madrid - Hybrid

This is a Hybrid working role with 1 - 2 days working onsite

• Own project delivery: scope, plan, estimate, schedule, and manage multi-work stream data projects.
• Manage stakeholders across business, data engineering, architecture, and security; run steering committees and working groups.
• Coordinate technical delivery on Data bricks (Jobs/Workflows, Repose, CICD orchestration, cluster & SQL warehouse planning).
• Governance & compliance: align with Unity Catalog (data lineage, permissions), data privacy, and audit requirements.
• Risk, issue, and dependency management across on-prem and cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) integrations.
• Cost management: track and optimize Databricks DBU and cloud compute/storage spend.
• Quality assurance: ensure testing (unit/integration), data validation, and production readiness.
• Reporting & communication: dashboards/status reports, RAID logs, and executive updates.
• Vendor & SOW management: coordinate with Databricks and partner SIs; manage contracts and deliverables.
• Change management & enablement: training plans, documentation, and handover to operations.
