About the Company
Join a major Belgian public-sector organization leading national infrastructure and safety transformation programs. The organization manages strategic technology deployments across transportation and government facilities, with a strong focus on public safety, digital innovation, and operational excellence.
Within their Safety & Building Management Systems (SBMS) Division, large-scale technical projects are being launched across domains like fire detection, intrusion systems, CCTV, and access control. As a Technical Project Manager, you'll be part of a high-impact mission with long-term vision and cross-functional collaboration.
Your Role
As a Technical Project Manager, you will lead end-to-end project delivery of Building Management System (BMS) solutions - from scoping and technical study to coordination, execution, and final deployment. You will liaise with internal teams, external providers, and security stakeholders to ensure compliance with industry standards and budget expectations.
You'll play a key role in the rollout of a strategic technical solution for one of Belgium's core public infrastructure entities.
Key Responsibilities
Project Initiation & Design
- Define high-level scope, timeline, budget
- Conduct detailed feasibility and technical studies (fire protection, risk analysis, etc.)
- Draft functional specifications aligned with internal policies
- Validate supplier proposals and cost structures
Project Execution & Governance
- Launch and coordinate technical project teams
- Monitor progress, resource allocation, risk, and budget
- Escalate challenges and implement mitigation plans
- Manage change requests through proper governance
Communication & Reporting
- Act as main point of contact for technical updates
- Deliver structured monthly reports and budget updates
- Document lessons learned and ensure smooth handover to operations
Framework Contracts & Procurement
- Draft and manage technical content of RFPs/framework contracts
- Evaluate offers and manage vendor relationships
- Monitor market trends and safety/security innovations
Operational Support & Escalation
- Provide third-line support for BMS incidents
- Resolve escalated issues with internal teams and suppliers
Your Profile
Required Experience
- 10+ years of experience with Building Management Systems
- 5+ years in technical project management roles
- Knowledge of public infrastructure or high-security environments
- Experience managing multi-million euro budgets and long-term initiatives
Certifications & Tools
- Methodologies: PM , PMBOK (preferred), Prince2, ITIL (asset)
- Certifications: BA4, BA5, VCA (assets)
Skills
- Strong technical judgment and autonomy
- Excellent stakeholder communication and vendor coordination
- Structured and reliable under pressure
Languages
- Fluent in Dutch or French (C1+ required)
- Very good professional English
- Bilingual candidates are highly valued
