Project Lead - Creative Wellbeing Programme (Armed Forces Community)

PEGS (Parental Education Growth Support) is an online nationwide Community Interest Company that supports parents and carers victims of abuse from their children, and empowers them with the guidance, skills, and support they need to navigate difficult situations with confidence. We also provide training for professionals on Child to Parent Abuse.
About the roleWe are seeking a passionate and experienced Project Lead to deliver a 12-month creative wellbeing programme to parents and carers victims of Child-to-Parents abuse referred to PEGS, who are either serving personnel, veterans or have direct family member connections to the Armed Forces.
Working in partnership with the VC Gallery, you will coordinate creative workshops (including art and writing), support participant engagement, and help deliver a final exhibition showcasing participants' work.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the wellbeing of Armed Forces communities through creativity, connection, and support.
Key Responsibilities- Leading the day-to-day delivery of the project from June to May
- Supporting qualified parents referred to PEGS to access this project
- Coordinating creative workshops with partner artists from the VC Gallery
- Organising and sending letterbox art packs to participants
- Facilitating engagement with parents and carers victims of CPA through online weekly group sessions (e.g. "NAAFI & natter")
- Providing light-touch 1:1 wellbeing support where needed, over the phone or online (we don't organise in-person meetings)
- Supporting participants to share their work (post or digital)
- Coordinating a final exhibition and digital gallery
- Collecting feedback and wellbeing data (ONS4) to evidence impact and support with reporting
- Is a veteran OR has significant experience working with Armed Forces communities
- Has experience delivering or supporting community or wellbeing projects
- Can evidence creative practice such as journaling, creative writing, or other forms of artistic expression
- Is confident building relationships and engaging participants in a trauma-informed way
- Has a good understanding of the challenges faced by serving personnel and veterans in a context of Child-to-Parent Abuse
- Has excellent project management skills and able to own the project from A to Z
- Is organised, proactive, and able to manage their own workload
- Is comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
- Is highly proficient in using digital tools such as Canva, Zoom and Google Suite
- Informed about domestic abuse, safeguarding, or support services
The role includes light-touch 1:1 support only; any specialist needs will be referred to appropriate services
Flexible working is supported, with a mix of home working and occasional in-person activity
The project culminates in a final exhibition in May, followed by evaluation and reporting
Note that an enhanced DBS check will be carried out as part of our Safer Recruitment process, which reveals all spent and unspent convictions, reprimands, and warnings on the Police National Computer; any relevant, non-conviction information held by local police forces; checks of the DBS Barred Lists (as the role is a regulated activity with vulnerable adults).
