POSITION OVERVIEW


ICFO is looking for a Project Financial Officer to join our team and play a key role in ensuring the effective financial management of research projects. This includes overseeing their economic monitoring, ensuring their accurate financial justification in compliance with applicable regulations and ICFO's internal policies, and supporting Group Leaders in the economic management of their projects. The successful candidate will contribute to the smooth execution of research initiatives by providing financial guidance and ensuring compliance with funding requirements.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Ensure research teams can make informed financial decisions by providing timely and accurate tracking of project budgets and expenditures.
  • Help Group Leaders confidently plan and manage project resources by offering expert support in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Enable successful funding audits and reviews by preparing compliant financial reports and justifications that align with funder and institutional regulations.
  • Reduce administrative and financial risks by proactively identifying potential compliance issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Facilitate seamless communication with funding agencies and auditors to resolve financial queries and ensure clarity in project reporting.
  • Improve the efficiency of project financial workflows by contributing to the enhancement of internal tools, templates, and best practices.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED


  • A University degree, preferably in Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Advanced level of English (minimum C1 level) with the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken forms.
  • Experience in financial management for research projects.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with researchers in multidisciplinary environments.
  • A service-oriented mindset, with initiative, attention to detail, organizational commitment, and a strong team spirit.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders effectively.


We will also value demonstrable experience in:


  • Experience with SAP Business One.
  • Good knowledge of Excel, including experience with Pivot tables.
  • Knowledge of European and National competitive funding programs and mechanisms.

CONDITIONS


This is a full-time permanent position. The contract offered will be interim if the Oferta Pública d'Ocupació is not approved at the time of incorporation.


A competitive salary within ICFO's salary scales will be offered, commensurate with the seniority of the applicant.
