Position Description:

The primary purpose of the Project Engineer role is to lead multi-discipline capital projects, typically valued between £50K and £2M, through all stages from initial development to final completion, commissioning, and handover.

Some Project Engineers also provide site support functions, including acting as 'duty holder' for statutory requirements within their discipline, particularly related to COMAH responsibilities.

Functions, Duties, Tasks
  1. Project Feasibility/Profiling: Collaborate with site customer teams to identify, develop, and assess project requirements, supporting business cases and options. Prepare and approve scope definitions, process design sheets, drawings, and funding documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards, and managing exceptions where necessary.
  2. Procurement: Follow company procedures for procurement, review bids, and oversee procurement processes to ensure best value.
  3. Consultancy/Technical Role: Provide engineering advice, develop site standards, and ensure technical compliance.
  4. Site Discipline Responsibilities: Ensure statutory needs and company procedures are met, maintaining professional development in relevant areas.
  5. Project Management: Review and approve scope changes, oversee contract resources, and ensure safe, cost-effective project delivery.
  6. Planning/Scheduling: Maintain detailed project plans, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure adherence to schedules.
  7. Validation: Review commissioning plans and ensure proper project and equipment turnover.
  8. Financial Control: Manage capital expenditure, process requisitions, approve invoices, and track project costs.
  9. Training and Handover: Ensure comprehensive transfer to operations for safe and compliant asset use.
Minimum Qualifications:
