Project Engineer - Airports

Our client is a consultancy working on an Airport project in Surrey. You'll be a Project Engineer.

This role means you will be in office Tues-Thurs and remote Mon and Fri.

Role Overview

London Gatwick is seeking a talented Project Engineer to join our dynamic Construction team at the world's most efficient single-runway airport. You will play a key role in delivering our ambitious infrastructure investment plan-designing, developing, and enhancing airport facilities to meet current and future demands.

As a Project Engineer, you will lead the design of projects (typically up to £25m) or support senior colleagues on more complex schemes. You will ensure designs meet project requirements, deliver value for money, and maintain progress against agreed schedules, managing both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the design process for assigned projects.

Develop project scope and contribute to the business case.

Prepare design briefs and manage external design consultants.

Ensure compliance with engineering standards, seeking safe and cost-effective solutions.

Oversee design progress, ensuring milestones and budgets are met.

Coordinate with the Construction Management Team to ensure on-site delivery matches approved designs.

Skills & Experience

Proven track record in project design and engineering management.

Strong technical knowledge of engineering principles and standards.

Experience managing consultants and contractors.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
