An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Director to take full strategic responsibility for the delivery of a major £100 million education construction project in South Wales. This role sits at the top of the project leadership structure and will suit a Project Director with a strong background delivering large, complex projects for a Tier 1 main contractor. You will oversee the project from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring successful outcomes across programme, commercial performance, quality, health & safety and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Overall leadership and direction of a £100m+ education project
• Full accountability for programme, budget, risk and project governance
• Lead and mentor the senior project team, including Project Managers and Commercial leads
• Act as the primary point of contact for the client, funders and key stakeholders
• Ensure best practice in health & safety, quality assurance and sustainability
• Drive value engineering, cost control and commercial strategy
• Oversee design management, procurement strategy and supply chain performance
• Report progress at board and senior leadership level

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience as a Project Director or Senior Project Lead on large-scale construction projects (£50m+)
• Strong background working for a Tier 1 or large regional main contractor
• Experience delivering education, public sector or complex building projects
• Excellent commercial awareness and contract management knowledge
• Strong leadership, client-facing and decision-making skills
• Relevant construction qualifications (Degree or equivalent)
• Chartered status (MCIOB, MAPM, MRICS or similar) desirable
