Job Title: Progress Tutor

Location: York

Contract: Full time - 37 hours per week, Fixed Term - 1st September 2027

Salary: SP18 - £25,462 to SP21 - £27,580 per annum

About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Progress Tutor to work with a cohort of students in our Motorsport department. You will deliver our tutorial framework group sessions (Progression and Development sessions), covering key topics such as employability, personal development, and essential life skills.

A core part of the role involves supporting students' academic progress through regular Progress Review meetings. You will monitor achievement, identify any barriers to learning, and provide targeted support to help students reach their full potential. You will also work closely with curriculum teams and liaise with parents/carers to ensure students are engaged, progressing well, and enjoying their course of study.

Working collaboratively with curriculum areas, the Student Services Team, and Work Placement Teams, you will play a vital role in ensuring each student develops the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to progress to their next stage. This includes helping students build independence and understand how to keep themselves safe as they move beyond college.

To be successful in this role, you will be enthusiastic, student-focused, and passionate about supporting young people to achieve their goals. You will be a strong team player with the ability to work independently when required. We welcome applicants who have an understanding of 16-18 provision, have good time management and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to motivate students.

Start Date: The College operates 2 starter/induction days per month to welcome and onboard new members. These are usually the first Monday and third Wednesday of each month (unless there is a bank holiday).
