Programme Officer - Public Health Programmes - 4 days a week
£26.34 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay
Temporary role till October 2025
Part-time 29 hours per week Monday - Thursday
Hybrid - minimum two days in the London office

A leading independent charity are seeking a Programme Officer for a temporary basis until October 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to impactful work the charity are involved in within public health space
You will be part of a dynamic Programmes, Grants, and Operations team that plays a critical role in supporting the design, delivery, and management of health-focused initiatives. Your work will involve managing grants and procurement processes, supporting project planning and delivery, and ensuring smooth operational delivery across a range of programmes. You will collaborate closely with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure the success of key initiatives aligned with strategic public health goals.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and manage project plans, monitor progress and budgets, and contribute to strategic delivery.
• Oversee grant and contract management, including payments, compliance, and reporting.
• Coordinate and support meetings and workshops, ensuring high standards in documentation and follow-up.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with partners and grantees.
• Contribute to process improvement and knowledge-sharing across the team.

Skill and experienced required:
• We're looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive, and motivated by making a difference. You will need to demonstrate:
• Strong project and programme management skills, with the ability to manage multiple streams of work.
• Experience in managing grants and/or contracts, including financial oversight.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence using collaboration and productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Miro, SharePoint).
• Experience of working in health or social impact sectors is desirable but not essential.
