Job Purpose

The Programme Lead is responsible for leading a set of projects and initiatives that deliver specific benefits and improve business performance. The role involves working with executive sponsors and functional leads to define desired outcomes, benefits, and the business case, supported by a clear scope and change management plan.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Engage with sponsors and stakeholders to establish programme benefits and business cases.
  2. Define and oversee the programme's governance structure aligned with the PMF framework.
  3. Monitor progress, resolve issues, manage risks, and report regularly to senior management.
  4. Develop stakeholder engagement plans and mobilize business leads and experts.
  5. Design and plan the programme to achieve goals, including project decomposition.
  6. Maintain the overall programme plan and controls.
  7. Manage dependencies within the programme and with other change initiatives.
  8. Oversee the programme budget, ensuring value for money, accurate forecasting, and benefit tracking.
  9. Allocate resources effectively, support sourcing, and facilitate prioritization.
  10. Provide leadership and coaching to project managers and team members.
  11. Collaborate with procurement and third-party vendors to ensure value delivery.
  12. Coordinate with Business Change Managers and IT Service Managers for transition to business-as-usual.
  13. Capture lessons learned, perform root cause analysis, and implement improvements.
Role Requirements

Essential Skills:

  • Experience in large, complex organizations, preferably in high-volume industries.
  • Proven track record in managing projects involving new payment types and reconciliation software.
  • Strong programme management skills with a history of delivering on time, budget, and quality.
  • Understanding of the aviation industry and low-cost carrier business models is advantageous.
  • Experience in designing comprehensive change projects covering strategy, processes, systems, and organizational culture.
  • Ability to influence and lead up to board level.
  • Leadership experience with teams of 50+ and line management of up to 7 direct reports.
  • Resilience and ability to work under pressure.
  • Financial literacy, including budgeting, reporting, and interpreting financial data.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of financial controls within a SOX framework.
  • Experience managing programmes within Payments, including familiarity with payment systems and regulations.
  • Understanding of end-to-end payment processing.
  • Experience working within agile and waterfall project frameworks.
