Programme Coordinator - Public Sector Energy & Sustainability
About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity within a Public Sector Programme team focused on supporting organisations in achieving energy efficiency and emissions reduction targets.
This team delivers strategic initiatives aligned with national climate and sustainability objectives, including regulatory programmes and data-driven planning. The role contributes to enabling public sector organisations to improve energy performance through structured support, guidance, and collaboration.
The Programme
The programme operates on a partnership model, supporting public sector organisations through mentoring, training, and advisory services. Participating organisations commit to achieving defined energy and emissions targets, while receiving support in areas such as:
- Energy management programme development
- Performance and "gap to target" analysis
- Annual reviews of key success factors
- Training, events, and ongoing advisory support
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, coordination, and delivery of standardised programme supports
- Work with mentors and stakeholders to assist a large portfolio of public sector organisations in improving energy efficiency and decarbonisation efforts
- Help organisations establish and enhance energy management programmes tailored to their size and needs
- Contribute to programme planning, reporting, and continuous improvement
- Coordinate delivery of training, events, and support services
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure effective programme execution
- Support data collection, validation, and reporting activities
About You
Essential Requirements
- Degree (NFQ Level 7 or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (e.g. Business, Science, Technology, Engineering, or similar)
- Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in a similar role or related sector
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly
- Strong IT and digital literacy skills
Desirable
- Experience in sustainability, energy, or environmental programmes
- Experience working with or within the public sector
- Project coordination or project management experience
- Knowledge of energy efficiency, decarbonisation, or building services
- Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Experience delivering high-quality customer or stakeholder engagement
