Professorships in Aerospace

The Technical University of Munich (TUM) invites applications for Professorships in Aerospace to begin in winter semester 2027/28. Positions are available at all career levels:

  • W2 Tenure Track Assistant Professor (with tenure track to W3)
  • Tenured W3, Associate or Full Professor
Research Areas

Applications are invited in the following fields:

  • Quantum Space Technologies
  • (Optical) Payload Systems
  • Space Applications
  • Cyber-security for Aerospace

The professorship will be assigned to the TUM Department of Aerospace and Geodesy at the TUM School of Engineering and Design. Candidates are encouraged to review current professorships to identify complementary strengths and collaboration potential: .

Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Research and teaching in the specified fields
  • Promotion of early-career scientists
  • Development of innovative approaches to address pressing societal challenges and achieve scientific impact
  • Teaching responsibilities in the university's bachelor and master programs
Qualifications
  • Excellent achievements in research and teaching, commensurate with the relevant career level (further details: )
  • University degree and an outstanding doctoral degree (or equivalent scientific qualification)
  • Pedagogical aptitude
  • Substantial research experience abroad
