The Company

Since 1909, Morgan Motor Company has been creating sports cars that celebrate craftsmanship, engineering and the simple pleasure of driving. Every Morgan is coach built by hand at our home in Malvern, where traditional skills sit alongside contemporary design and manufacturing techniques.

More than a century after the first Morgan was built, our historic factory remains the heart of the business. Admired and enjoyed around the world, each sports car reflects the care, skill and attention of those who build them.

At Morgan, every contribution matters. You'll work alongside passionate and talented colleagues, see the impact of your work first hand, and help shape the next chapter of a company that remains true to its roots while continuing to evolve.

The Role

We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Specialist to join our Sheet Metal Department, where you will play a key role in producing hand crafted body panels for our prestigious range of vehicles. This is an exciting opportunity to work with traditional, time honoured techniques to create high quality automotive parts that contribute to the iconic Morgan Motor Company legacy.

In this role, you will manipulate pre formed panels and craft complete coach built bodies and bonnets, ensuring they are ready for the assembly process. As a member of our skilled team, you will be entrusted with producing parts that meet the exacting standards of Morgan craftsmanship and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manufacture body panels using traditional sheet metal techniques to create bespoke components.
  • Hammer form components, shaping both part and fully pressed elements to precision.
  • TIG weld body panels (mainly Aluminium) with meticulous attention to detail, maintaining quality and strength.
  • Prepare assembled bodies and panels for the painting process, ensuring perfect fit and finish.
  • Perform a variety of general sheet metal and fabrication tasks in line with production requirements.
  • Proven Sheet Metal, Fabrication, and Welding credentials (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, or similar qualifications)
  • Expert TIG/MIG welding skills, with a deep understanding of welding distortion and how to avoid it.
  • Experience manufacturing automotive body panels, particularly for the niche automotive sector, ensuring a high standard of craftsmanship.
  • Skilled in preparing BIW (Body in White) assemblies for paint, ensuring components are prepared with precision.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and apply them to practical tasks.
  • Previous experience in automotive manufacturing and working within a structured production environment is advantageous.
  • Ability to stay focused and maintain high quality output during repetitive tasks while adhering to set time standards.
  • Familiarity with using manufacturing jigs and working to established production standards.
The Person

We are looking for an individual who takes real pride in their craftsmanship, with a passion for delivering exceptional quality in every panel and part they create. You'll be part of a team that strives for excellence and efficiency, but also have the autonomy to work individually and ensure that weekly production targets are met, all while upholding Morgan's renowned quality standards.

The ideal candidate will be:
  • Enthusiastic, with a resourceful and flexible approach to problem solving.
  • Reliable and self motivated, with a positive and proactive outlook.
  • Able to maintain focus in a fast paced manufacturing environment, consistently delivering top quality results within job specific standard times.
  • A team player, able to collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues across departments.

If you're passionate about working with traditional automotive manufacturing methods and want to contribute to the creation of iconic Morgan vehicles, we'd love to hear from you.
