Outline of the jobWe are seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee the planning and delivery of high-quality digital and audio-visual content as part of several strategic communications programmes.
This role requires someone who combines strong production management expertise with a clear understanding of sensitive operating contexts, including managing risk, logistics, and compliance when delivering content across multiple regions.
The Production Manager will work closely with creative, operations, and digital teams to ensure all content is delivered on time, within budget, and in line with Zinc's editorial and safeguarding standards. They will report to the Head of Production & Operations.
Key responsibilities- Manage the end-to-end production workflow for digital content (film, animation, audio, and social media assets) from concept to delivery.
- Schedule and resource multiple concurrent productions using a mixture of internal staff & freelancers, ensuring efficiency, quality control, and budget adherence.
- Serve as the first point of contact for new production requests - scoping briefs, planning timelines, and briefing producers and editors.
- Coordinate production-related travel logistics working to the projects policies and regulations
- Oversee on-location and remote shoots.
- Coordinate due diligence, contracting, insurance, and risk assessments for crews, talent, and third-party suppliers.
- Work with creative and digital teams to ensure outputs align with brand, editorial, and safeguarding standards.
- Maintain close collaboration with the operations team to ensure compliance with security, data protection, and ethical content guidelines.
- Monitor project budgets, process invoices, and track expenditure against forecasts alongside the Project Accountant.
- Ensure all production documentation, licensing, and consent paperwork is complete and archived.
- Manage post-production workflows, versioning, and delivery for multi-format, multi-language outputs.
- 5+ years' experience in production management for digital or broadcast content (agency, NGO, or international project experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of end-to-end production workflows, including pre-production, shoot management, and post-production delivery.
- Experience coordinating productions in sensitive or complex operating environments, with strong risk awareness.
- Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables, competing deadlines, and diverse creative teams.
- Strong financial and organisational skills, including budget management and resource planning.
- Experience in conducting due diligence, procurement, contracting and managing freelancers, agencies, and suppliers.
- Knowledge of digital content formats, dissemination strategies, and social media platform specifications.
- Familiarity with safeguarding, duty of care, and data protection requirements for content creation.
- Fluency in English.
- Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- UK SC Clearance would be beneficial, but not a requirement.
