Job Description

Location:CIL House, Andover

Contract:Permanent, Full-Time

Hours:38.5 hours per week
Monday - Thursday: 08:30 - 17:00; Friday: 08:30 - 15:30

Purpose of Role:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our growing PCBA Engineering team as a Production Engineer. You will be primarily responsible for providing technical support to our production and engineering teams, whilst introducing New Product (NPI), Projects and Product via adequate engineering processes. As well as, designing, testing and implementing new strategies, to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Key accountabilities include but are not limited to;

  • Business: To support the other business functions and promote and enhance the CIL service offering to our existing & potential new customer base
  • Product Validation: Technically lead the Production Engineering Group to ensure that manufactured Product complies with Customer specification and CIL Engineering and Production standards of excellence.
  • Process Verification: Use of documented Standard Operating Procedures and Process Capability to continuously verify manufacturing processes, and current & new equipment.
  • Engineering Documents: Ensure CIL Management Procedure and Standard Operating Procedures and Assembly information pertaining to Engineering are documented and reviewed for accuracy and compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support development of production processes and ensure best possible
    quality and reduce waste; increase efficiency by analysing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment layout, identify, measure, monitor and report on Key Process Indicators to help drive improvement.
  • Production Support: Support Production Teams in all matters technical, address technical issues, re-optimisation of process and troubleshooting.
  • Production Training: Support Production Teams in identifying training needs for new and current processes, support training plans and documentation to deliver training on equipment and processes.
  • Production Discipline: Work with supervisors and production teams to ensure standards of workmanship are met and the working environment is maintained. Help resolve instances of inadequate technical excellence and identify developmental training, and personal improvement plans for individuals.
  • Customer Support: Review new and/or up-issued customer documentation to ensure CIL documents and process are compliant to customer requirements. Communicate with customer technical teams on technical matters/queries, ensuring appropriate actions are identified planned and completed according to agreed timescales.
  • Business Management Systems: Assist Senior Management in identifying and documenting, recording, and reporting on procedures, processes, and key performance indicators.

Qualifications
  • Ideally 5 years working in a PCBA manufacturing environment.
  • A formal qualification in an engineering discipline (electronics), or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrate ability to technically support customers and production with manufacturing queries.
  • Ability to provide customer feedback from any witnessed build issues, with a view to improving quality and efficiencies.
