Production Chemistry Team Lead
Location: Newbury, Berkshire
Position Type: Permanent
Salary: Around £75,000, depending on experience

Role Overview

The client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Production Chemistry Team Lead to join their team and play a key role in the strategic growth of their production chemistry function. As part of the second-tier management team, the successful candidate will lead projects, mentor technical staff, and strengthen cross-functional collaboration. This role offers a unique opportunity to tackle diverse technical challenges while advancing leadership capabilities in a supportive and progressive environment.

Skills/Experience Requirements

Essential:

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in a Senior Production Chemist or Team Leader role
  • Degree in a scientific or engineering discipline with substantial oil and gas industry exposure
  • Strong understanding of physical and inorganic chemistry, microbiology, and lab safety practices (e.g., COSHH, MSDS, IATA)
  • Proven project and team management experience
  • High ethical standards and commitment to integrity

Desirable:

  • Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline
  • Recognised Project Management qualification
  • Previous oil industry consultancy experience
